BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan — Following an intensive needs analysis involving regional workshops and focus groups, the Kyrgyz-German Institute of Applied Informatics (INAI.kg), within the framework of the DIGITECH project, has identified a critical need to lunch on new barchelor program “Industrial IT”. The findings highlight a significant gap between current academic offerings and the rapid evolution of the global digital economy. To bridge this gap, INAI.kg is launching a comprehensive Seven-Point Strategic Action Plan to revitalize its curriculum and infrastructure:

  • Five-Pillar Academic Structure: The future Automation degree will be anchored by:
  1. Core Engineering Disciplines;
  2. Advanced Programming;
  3. Industrial Automation;
  4. AI & Machine Learning;
  5. Professional Languages and Soft Skills.
  • Modernized Computer Science Curriculum: Outdated modules in Big Data, Machine Learning, and SQL will be completely overhauled. The new content focuses on practical, market-aligned skills that meet the immediate demands of local employers.
  • Faculty Capacity Building: To ensure elite delivery, lecturers will participate in specialized trainingand pilot teaching initiatives designed to master modern industrial methodologies.
  • Applied Project-Based Learning (PBL): Moving beyond theory, the program will adopt an applied learning approach, where students manage real-world projects covering the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Enhanced Soft Skills: The project prioritizes "work-readiness," including dedicated training in critical thinking, professional communication, and strategic problem-solving.
  • Next-Gen Infrastructure: To support hands-on learning in IoT and PLC-SCADA systems, INAI.kg will acquire state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
  • Industry-Driven Mentorship: A new Industrial Advisory Board will be established, offering students direct mentorship and high-impact internships to ensure a seamless transition from classroom to career.

"This analysis isn't just about identifying what is missing; it’s about building a bridge between academia and the workforce," said Aida Tologonova, Rector of INAI.kg. "The results will directly shape our curriculum reforms, ensuring that our students are equipped with the exact digital tools employers are looking for today."
