If you have a good academic achievement and also study hard, you have the opportunity to participate in the scholarship programme, which is funded by the COPERNICUS BERLIN Foundation. The University of Applied Sciences Zwickau (WHZ) and the Kyrgyz-German Institute of Applied Informatics will provide organisational support for applications and hope for a high level of interest from students.

IES-PROGRAM

The International Scholarship Program (IES) is a scholarship program that allows students from Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia to spend one academic semester in Berlin. This program gives students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge at top German universities (Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin) and apply their theoretical knowledge during practical training. During their 6-month stay the students will get to know German culture by living with a German-speaking host family as well as by participating in cultural events and social gatherings. The scholarship recipients will also take part in various program activities as volunteers.

In order to adapt quickly and smoothly to Berlin, the scholarship holders will be accompanied by an experienced team.

The curriculum is limited to one semester.

Currently, there will be a selection period for the summer semester from 1 April to 15 June 2021, which runs from 1 April 2022 to 30 September 2022.

Scholarship

COPERNICUS BERLIN covers all essential programme costs. The fund covers costs for accommodation and utilities, insurance, food and other living expenses, as well as an allowance of € 220 per month for pocket money, visa costs and travel costs to Germany.

Study programme

Scholarship recipients have the opportunity to study at one of two universities in Berlin: the Freie Universität Berlin or the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. Both universities offer a variety of interesting courses. Within the framework of the scholarship programme you can take several language and subject courses. In addition to a study programme at the university, participants should also complete their internship in a company or organization during the last part of their stay in Germany.

Accommodation

International Excellence Scholarship holders will be accommodated in a host family. A private room with a bed, desk, wardrobe and internet access will be provided.

Requirements:

1. To be a student in the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan;
2. Be an undergraduate student at the start of the programme;
3. Have a good academic record;
4. B1 or higher in German and B2 or higher in English;
5. Be a socially-active student.

2) INTERVIEW STAGE

Selected candidates will be invited for an interview via Skype, imo or Whatsapp: from August 10 to August 20, 2021.

3) TASK

After the interview, the selected candidates will be given certain tasks to complete: from September 1 to October 31, 2021.

All candidates will be informed of the final results between 1 November and 10 November 2021.
